Oswego is a village in Kendall County, Illinois. As of the 2005 census, the village population was 23,089. Its population has nearly doubled since 2000, as the Chicago suburbs expanded westward into the area. It is currently the most populated town whose borders are within Kendall County.Downtown Oswego is home to historic buildings and homes, as well as shops and restaurants. The Village of Oswego launched a project to enhance and restore the historic downtown district. This project included significant infrastructure and street scape improvements, such as the installation of brick pavers, sidewalks, landscaping, and decorative streetlights and benches.

What Makes Oswego Unique?

• Fox Bend Golf Course - rated as one of the top twenty public courses in the Chicagoland area. The Illinois Open was held at Fox Bend in 1997 and in 1999. For the ninth year in a row, the pro shop at Fox Bend has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top 100 golf shops in America.
• War Memorial - has different pillars made of granite that symbolize each branch of service and a flame that burns above them. There is also a brick pathway called the "veterans Memorial Walkway" that consists of different plaques commemorating each war the United States has fought and how many soldiers died in each one of them.
